    Oxford Clinical Psychology

    Oxford Clinical Psychology: a collection of over 300 essential titles covering a range of specialties, disorders, and treatments in the field of clinical psychology, is now available to Brock University researchers.The extensively vetted collection is made up of key reference works, seminal scholarly and research titles, and renowned therapist guides and workbooks. Available through an annual subscription, Brock researchers have unlimited online access to these titles in ebook format and also have the option to download chapters to their own personal devices for permanent long term retrieval.

    Open Book PublishersOpen Book Publishers offers more than 100 freely accessible scholarly e-books covering multiple disciplines including Humanities (art, music, classics, history), Social Sciences (economics, sociology, education) and Science (environmental studies,  mathematics, history of science). Users can read PDF/HTML versions online on an easy-to-navigate platform. Some titles permit free PDF downloads; readers can also pay to order a print copy.

    Based in the UK, this non-profit publisher has a collaborative business model based on libraries paying a modest annual membership fee. Brock Library has chosen to invest in this innovative project to reflect our commitment to improving access to knowledge for all and transforming a dysfunctional scholarly publishing system.

    The new Readers’ Guide Full Text Mega database is a modern version of the well-known Readers’ Guide to Periodical Literature.  It is an online database that contains 100% full text of articles from over 250 magazines dating back to 1994, along with indexing for over 450 magazines dating back to 1982.  It is a multi-disciplinary source, and its coverage spans art, business, education, entertainment, health, literature, news, politics, popular culture, religion, science, sports, travel, and more.

    This database is good for tracking how ideas are described in general, practice-oriented, and popular sources of information over time, as well as for current events coverage, and for researching background information across many subject areas.

    The Lyell Collection is an online digital collection comprising the Geological  Society of London’s full-text journal articles, Special Publications, Memoirs, and journals published on behalf of other societies dating back to 1811. The database named after the eminent nineteenth-century geologist Charles Lyell (1797-1875) includes new content from 7 key journals, current peer reviewed papers, maps and historical commentaries from notables including Darwin, Scott, Shackleton, Amundsen, etc.
