My role as Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian involves:
Scholarly Communication
- Advancing awareness of, and support for, open access to scholarly research produced at Brock via:
- Education and outreach to the Brock community
- Providing one-on-one consultations to answer researchers’ specific questions
- Supporting Brock researchers navigating issues related to scholarly publishing and research metrics
- Helping guide the Library’s investments in open access platforms and products
- Managing the Library Open Access Publishing Fund
- Chairing the Library’s Scholarly Communications Working Group, whose mandate is “to advance scholarly communication initiatives across the Library, the institution and with external partners.”
Evidence synthesis
- Leading the Library’s support for evidence synthesis projects including systematic reviews and scoping reviews
- Providing individual/group consultations
- Developing training materials
- Delivering workshops and presentations
