My role as Research and Scholarly Communication Librarian involves:

Scholarly Communication

• Advancing awareness of, and support for, open access to scholarly research produced at Brock via:
  • Education and outreach to the Brock community
  • Providing one-on-one consultations to answer researchers’ specific questions
• Supporting Brock researchers navigating issues related to scholarly publishing and research metrics
• Helping guide the Library’s investments in open access platforms and products
• Managing the Library Open Access Publishing Fund
• Chairing the Library’s Scholarly Communications Working Group, whose mandate is “to advance scholarly communication initiatives across the Library, the institution and with external partners.”

Evidence synthesis

• Leading the Library’s support for evidence synthesis projects including systematic reviews and scoping reviews
  • Providing individual/group consultations
  • Developing training materials
  • Delivering workshops and presentations
