The Makerspace has an abundance of tools both digital and analog to help you create and invent.   Reserve time in the Makerspace to use our labs, stations, tools, or equipment for loan.

How to Reserve Technology

Follow these 3 steps to start your next project in the Makerspace.

Step 1:

View our online calendar to see what ‘Free’ times are available for booking.

Step 2:

Choose a time that works for you and send us a request.

Step 3:

Wait for a confirmation email and accept the calendar invite.

Technology Collection

Faculty and instructors may request the use of audio/video equipment for the duration of the term.  Contact us if you need technology recommendations for your projects, assignments, or courses.  All other students and staff can choose from the technology list below.

These devices are durable and portable cameras for taking fast moving physical action from a first person perspective. These are mainly used for capturing anything action-oriented from extreme sports to any intense situation that would put other cameras at risk.

These devices are meant for video production. These are mainly used for capturing interviews, films, music videos, etc. They encompass various stages of both film production and post-production.

These devices are for constructing a fast and basic 3D model of any physical object to be later printed through modelling software.

These devices are for programming objects to perform particular tasks. This is mainly directed towards those with an interest in coding or robotics.



In the Space

The Makerspace is equipped with a variety of labs and stations for specific types of making. Patrons can book time in the space during operating hours. The following services can be booked in any of the “Free” events in the Makerspace calendar. 


Our new video and photography lab is open for recordings without audio and still photography..

This lab (studio) is equipped with a 9 x 12-foot backdrop, studio lights, and professional cameras and lenses.  Complete our Video and Photography Lab orientation on Experience BU to make your booking.

The Audio Lab is unavailable for booking or general access to patrons for the time being due to COVID-19.

Our Virtual Tour can give a glimpse into the labs and give more information on what they normally provide.


The Prototyping Lab is still able to run any printing jobs for students and staff to bring their ideas to life. For more information on this lab and submitting a job request, please see our Services page.
