Completed Print/CNC Jobs

Audio Lab Bookings

In the Makerspace we have great technology to help you make prototypes, gifts, or functional objects and tools.  We offer friendly introduction workshops to help you get started with the basics. We will explore the software used to design for our 3D printers and CNC machines.  See our next scheduled events on Experience BU.

Once you are ready create your 3D model or CNC project, speak with any of our Makerspace staff so we can submit your design to our printing queue.

All printing and carving jobs have a turnaround of 3-5 business days.

We have a variety of 3D printers in the Makerspace that provide a range of quality models for prototyping.

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is used far and wide in modeling and for producing larger parts. A string of plastic called a filament is melted through a hotend and deposited on the build plate. The next layer is then placed on top of the previous layer.

Printers: Dremel 3D45 and Ultimaker S5

Stereolithography/Dark light projection (SLA/DLP) printers are, essentially, 3D printers that print using light to cure liquid resin into layers.

Printers: Form 2 and Form 3B

Our turnaround time for all jobs will be 3 – 5 business days.

Computational Numeric Control combines digital software with physical machine to create a project. Where the program feeds data of a design to the device, etching the design into a chosen material, using an array of drill bits for precision and versatility.

Much like the Carvey, Laser Cutting has an online digital program feeding data of a design to a physical device to engrave or cut into a material, instead in this instance using laser technology reflected by small circular lenses.

Laser cuts cost $0.25 per minute.  Below is an example of a laser cut and the cost.

If you would like to bring in your own material here is a link to a list of acceptable materials for the Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter.

Our turnaround time for all jobs will be 3 – 5 business days.

Come into the Makerspace to make a reservation for the Audio Lab.

All first time reservations will be accompanied by a Makerspace staff member who will provide a general overview of how to use the tools in the Audio Lab.
