Jessica has contributed to teaching and learning in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies in a number of roles including as a Teaching Assistant for RECL 2P11 (Social Psychology of Leisure); RECL 2P62 (Leisure Education in Therapeutic Recreation), and RECL 2P02 (Foundations of Therapeutic Recreation. Jessica has also been a Marker-Grader for RECL 3Q99 (Therapeutic Recreation in Physical Rehabilitation) and an Experiential Learning Project Coordinator for RECL 2P62 as well.

Jessica has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to both her teaching responsibilities and professional learning throughout her time as a TA. This has been reflected in her student feedback and evaluations.

For Jessica relationships are central to effective teaching and learning: “Having positive teacher-student relationships assists me in being a better educator for I can tailor my teaching plan to my student’s interests to increase motivation towards course content.”
