What is a Community of Practice (CoP)?
A CoP is a collegial space where instructors come together to explore shared interests in teaching and learning. These monthly gatherings are designed to foster connection, spark ideas and support your instruction without any added workload.
CoPs are not committees. They involve no formal deliverables, require minimal preparation, and offer a welcoming space to attend, listen, share, and learn.
How often and where do they meet?
- Each CoP meets every month for 50 minutes via Teams.
How does a CoP work?
- Monthly meetings with a focused theme and informal structure
- Rotating facilitation: members may volunteer to guide discussion
- Open forum time for questions, updates, and spontaneous sharing
- Participation: contribute as you feel comfortable (listening is participating)
- Organized by CPI: we handle logistics so that you can focus on the conversation
