Contact North’s “AI Pro” series 

Contact North | Contact Nord is an Ontario Government agency focused on online education. They offer several experimental GenAI tools that have been assessed by Brock’s Privacy Office and IT Infrastructure Review Team and deemed safe for general use. Brock does not have a formal agreement with ContactNorth, and these tools should not be used with information that is considered private, personally identifiable, or confidential. Users should only use these tools with their own content or where the copyright holder has granted permission.

AI Teaching Assistant Pro is an instructor aid that can assist with labour-intensive instructional design work, like drafting quiz questions and generating ideas for learning outcomes. Its output should always be treated as a starting point and never a replacement for informed and intentional instructional design. This tool has no connection to teaching assistant positions at Brock University.

AI Tutor Pro is a student-facing study aid. Its main features are a “Check my knowledge” section that creates custom quizzes for review and a “Grow my knowledge” area that can simulate a conversation around a topic based on whatever input is provided. Instructors can test the results with their own subject matter to verify if this tool may be helpful to share with students.

Microsoft Copilot

Brock University’s Microsoft 365 suite includes Copilot Chat (currently operating on GPT-4o), which features enterprise data protection and shares the standard privacy features within the Brock Microsoft ecosystem. More information is available through Microsoft’s Enterprise data protection in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat page.
