Chantal’s remarkable dedication and achievements add on to a long-standing departmental legacy of leadership in mathematics education, notably by Brock’s Professors Eric Muller and Bill Ralph. Right from when she set foot at Brock in 2004, supported by an encouraging pedagogical environment, Chantal enthusiastically engaged in teaching and improving the unique Mathematics Integrated with Computers and Applications (MICA) program designed at Brock under the influence of Ralph and Muller and implemented in 2001.

In the classroom, Chantal describes herself as a ‘constructivist at heart’. This point of view of the practice of mathematics has shaped her courses’ developments resulting in more effective, more relevant, and more inclusive pedagogical strategies. One student wrote: “the thinking that your course has inspired will continue to assist me in thinking critically about how I am teaching and how technology is influencing my classroom.”
