Dr. Matt Miller is an Assistant Professor with a focus on teaching in the Master of Athletic Therapy program. Matt is a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)) with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Matt also serves on the CATA board of directors as Treasurer.

Matt’s research is focused on pedagogy in athletic therapy, specifically around emergency care, anatomy, and clinical decision making. Matt uses novel technologies like high-fidelity simulation manikins and virtual reality to simulate high-risk & high-pressure situations in a safe environment. Matt has previously researched lower extremity injury risk in athletes and children, his PhD dissertation helped to create the Child Focused Injury Risk Screening Tool (ChildFIRST).
