Emergency Notification System

About

Brock University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department is responsible for providing maintenance and management of the Emergency Notification System (ENS). The functionality of the ENS is to provide a safe and secure environment by creating awareness of critical emergency events. Messages are sent out via email, voicemail, wallboards, SMS, to all faculty and staff members. In the event of an emergency, Campus Security Services would be the department who is responsible for launching emergency messages with the consultation of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Crisis Management Group (CMG).

ITS is responsible for maintaining the Connexall System and all of its integral components. They provide design and consultation expertise based on current emergency notification methods, trends and innovations to departments when new infrastructure is being planned and can assist with recommendations of typical hardware installations. They work closely with Campus Security Services to ensure this technology is installed in locations deemed critical.

Campus Security Services periodically tests the system for functionality on a regular basis. Telecomm team provides maintenance and support of the hardware and software components through close interaction with Campus Security Services.
