Program Description:
Brock is the only university in Canada granting a specialized Bachelor of Sport Management (BSM) degree, and it is one of our fastest growing programs.

Our program focuses on the application of theory, principles, and practices of business to the sport industry. There is a strong emphasis on connecting this theory to the activities of the industry, through high profile guest speakers, case studies, use of media and planned experiential learning opportunities in the field.

The Department of Sport Management provides many opportunities for students to become explore a range of dynamic career opportunities available in the Canadian sport industry including the public, non-profit, and commercial sectors; Our students are prepared for positions in management, marketing, public relations, communications, facility and event management, sales, program development, and human resource management.

Field Work Placement:
The 3rd year field work placements with Brock Athletics, intercollegiate teams,special events  andother sport related organizations, are a great way to gain valuable experience in a sport-related organization. 80 hours; done in conjunction with regular class schedule during the fall/winter terms.

You will have great opportunities to gain industry experience and build career contacts through the 4th year internships! Full time experience within the sport industry; 440 hours; may be done in fall, winter or summer semesters. May be done in Canada or elsewhere.

Our students have interned at a variety of exciting places including: TSN, Toronto Raptors, IMG, Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Marlies, Tennis Canada, Niagara Ice Dogs, Ontario Hockey Association, Hamilton Bulldogs, Ontario Special Olympics, VANCOUVER 2010, Hamilton Tiger Cats, Niagara Sports Commission and many more!

International Exchange Opportunities:
International exchange opportunities are available for Sport Management students, typically in the third year who Our students have studied in the USA (North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Illinois), Australia, Scotland, England,Wales, France and Finland.
