The Brock University Alumni Association will present Tony Abou-Assaleh with the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Distinguished Graduate Award on September 16 during the Alumni Recognition Reception, held as part of Homecoming weekend. Abou-Assaleh is an innovative entrepreneur and intuitive researcher who distinguished himself as an undergraduate in Brock’s Computer Science program by excelling in both his academic studies as well as extracurricular and community pursuits.
He created his own award-winning company, TitanFile – widely recognized for providing the best-in-kind software for secure access to legal documents. Along with his personal success, Abou-Assaleh continues to give back to the community. Coupled with his warmth, humour and comradely, Tony exemplifies the ideal qualities of Brock alumni. He was, and continues to be, a role model, industry leader and the kind of graduate Brock University is immensely proud to both recognize and call its own.

It’s a chance to score a good deal while supporting students who want to help others.
The second annual Brock Bazaar will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Academic South hallway. The event raises money for the University’s Alternative Reading Week program, which allows students to participate in volunteer work both in the local community and abroad.
The community wide yard sale, hosted by the Brock Leaders Citizenship Society, allows Brock students, faculty and staff, as well as the broader public, to register and sell their items. The $20 registration fee for sellers is donated to the ARW program, while vendors get to keep whatever they make from selling their items.
Parking for the event is free in D Lot. Registration can be done online or by visiting Mackenzie Chown A-Block 204. Anyone who would like to donate items to the cause but is unable to attend can connect with organizers via the above link.

We acknowledge the land on which Brock University was built is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe people, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
