• Lauren and the Jack M. Miller Excellence in Research Award

  The History Department is delighted to announce that History MA student Lauren Berry was one of ten graduate students from across six Brock Faculties and Colleges to receive the Jack M. Miller Excellence in Research Award.

  The awards were presented at the 20^th annual Mapping New Knowledges (MNK) Research Conference, held at Brock on April 9, 2025.

  Lauren’s research focuses on the moral panic about stage actresses that swept Britain in the eighteenth century.

  Congratulations, Lauren, on this well-deserved honour!

• History Alum Matthew Melnyk recognized at the 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards for 2023

  Matthew Melnyk (BA Honours, MA History) was honoured last week at the Business Link Media Group’s annual 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards. The award recognizes “individuals under the age of 40 who make significant positive contributions to the local economy, community, and business ecosystem.” This is the 20th year that the Business Link Media Group has held the awards.
