As of March 4, 2026, the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is open for Brock’s first‑year and senior undergraduate students. NSSE is used by universities across Ontario and across Canada to better understand how students experience their learning and campus environments. NSSE at Brock will remain open until May 2026.
The survey explores a range of academic and co‑curricular experiences, including:
- in‑class learning
- working with classmates
- interactions with instructors
- how students balance academic and personal responsibilities
This year, Brock has also included the Inclusiveness & Engagement With Cultural Diversity module. This set of questions looks at:
- exposure to inclusive teaching practices and intercultural learning
- perceptions of the university’s values and commitments related to diversity
- participation in diversity‑related programming and coursework
- environments and activities that support engagement with cultural diversity and deepen understanding of societal differences
NSSE results help the University identify strengths and opportunities to enhance the undergraduate experience at Brock.

- Growing student leadership pathways, including the Foundations in Leadership Certificate, Mentor Link, and the Brock Student Leadership Summit.
- Enhancing academic and social connection initiatives, such as expanding Coffee with a Prof and strengthening first‑year transition programming through events like the New Student Welcome and Academic Orientation.
