Next Steps

1

Check and use your Brock student email

Students admitted to Brock University are assigned a unique Brock email address. It is important to familiarize yourself with your new personal student email (which is accessible via Office 365), as this is the account students must use when emailing faculty, staff, or services across campus.

When you send anyone at Brock an email, please include the subject and your 7-digit Student ID number in the subject line so that we can assist you more easily!

2

 Contact an Academic Advisor

Transferring from another college or university? Attending as a mature or part-time student? Upper year student with questions? Book an appointment with your academic advisor as soon as possible to plan your academic career. Don’t wait — book early to ensure you are ready to register for your courses as soon as you are eligible. If you have been awarded transfer credits, they’ll assist in determining how the credits will fit within your degree.

Visit my.brocku.ca to schedule your appointment or find your advisor.

Plan your schedule and register for your courses

Plan early to maximize your chances of getting the courses you want, when you want them.

Learn how to register for courses at Brock

Check for specific registration dates. Please be sure to check your Program Status page for the number of successfully completed courses you have in order to determine your registration date. Please use the academic calendar to check pre-requisites and restrictions on the courses you wish to take to ensure they are available to you (and on what date), and use the timetable to build your schedule.

If you are an international student with course registration questions, please contact [email protected]

4

Order any official documents you may need

All official letters can be requested in my.brocku.ca under the Student Self-Service Access Menu, under Forms and Services.

RESP/Confirmation of Enrolment Letters

To avoid errors, the earliest we encourage students to order Confirmation of Enrolment/RESP letters is the day after course registration has been completed. Once the payment is made, the letter is automatically generated and available to download as a pdf.

Note: these letters may only be requested for academic sessions where registration exists. This means that students must be registered in courses for the specific term/session

5

 Determine your fees

After you have registered for your courses, financial assessment typically takes place at the end of July/early August and can be seen through your Student Financial History page while logged into your portal at my.brocku.ca. This includes tuition and fees, including any residence or meal plan fees to be paid.

Up-to-date fees and information can be on the SAFA website

Learn more about residence and meal plan fees

Brock does not mail paper statements nor issue receipts. It is your responsibility to check your statements via your student portal at my.brocku.ca. You can find a detailed list of all charges and payments toward the bottom of the Student Financial History page, by clicking on the + Financial History grey button. You can change the date at the top of this page to go back farther into your history as you continue your studies. This page can be printed or exported in order to serve as an invoice or receipt (your payments, scholarships/awards, and any OSAP will be listed here once applied to your account).

Apply for Awards, Bursaries and Financial Aid

Brock’s OneApp is the one-stop for all student awards and financial aid at Brock. The application is open annually for ALL Students (Returning and New Entrants) beginning on August 1 each year and we encourage students to apply before October 15 for best selection, however the app remains open until May 31.

OSAP Applications

Apply for OSAP if you are an Ontario Resident and applications for the OSAP 2025-2026 application year are now open! Once students have registered, we encourage them to upload any required documentation directly to their OSAP application to ensure that there is no delay in the distribution of Fall OSAP funds.

If students have any questions or concerns, please connect with Brock Central.

7

 Pay your fees

Your fees are typically ready toward the end of July or early August, so please check back if you register for courses during the summer and this does not immediately populate. This is continuously updated overnight on the days you add/drop courses.

Please note that when you make a bill payment via your bank, it can take 3-5 business days for your banking institution to transfer the funds, which should arrive directly on your student account in that timeframe.

It is always best to work backward from any fee due dates (or the first of each month after the start of term) and be sure to make payments so that the funds arrive on your account on time. You can see when funds arrive on your account at the exact same time we can, so please monitor your Student Financial History page in my.brocku.ca (click the + Financial History button at the bottom) and see that your payment has arrived.

Note: If your “due now” amount on your Student Financial History page ever appears in brackets, this indicates an overpayment. This can be left on your account for future tuition and fees, or a refund can be requested, if funds are eligible to be refunded: Request a refund – Student Accounts & Financial Aid
