Experiential education bridges theory and practice, allowing students to develop skills, clarify their values, contribute to local and global communities, and make their learning come alive.
Specific opportunities for experiential learning will vary by department, course, and instructor each year. Past experiences have included:
- Study tours to the Isle of Man, UK, and to Italy.
- Cultural events, workshops, and lectures with leading artists and performers.
- Theatre performances, including the production of Metamorphoses.
- Music recitals, concerts, and collaborations like the 2024 performance of Verdi’s Requiem with Chorus Niagara
- Video game development.
- Curating exhibits with Archives and Special Collections to explore Niagara’s past.
- Using the latest 3D technology to work with artifacts from the ancient Mediterranean.
