Volunteering

Getting out into the community is a goal we have for students beyond their time in the classroom and working together with the local community is important to us.

We host a variety of opportunities throughout the year for students to volunteer on their own or with us in the local community and beyond. And volunteering is a great way to meet new people while adding experience and skills to your resume.

Student Life can help!

Join us for days of service like Brock Cares, or on local and international experiences with Alternative Reading Weeks, as well as at a number of events and fundraisers both on and off campus that we host in partnership with great community organizations.

Visit the ExperienceBU calendar to see what events are happening at Brock and in the community.

Looking for short term and varied volunteer opportunities?

Join the Community Engagement & Volunteering page on ExperienceBU and check often for opportunities to volunteer in on-campus, in the local community and beyond.

Want to receive information and stories about the latest community engagement and volunteer opportunities right into your inbox? Click here to subscribe to our Community Connections biweekly newsletter.

Looking to connect with dozens of agencies all in one place?

Then make sure to attend Brock Cares: Volunteer Fair on September 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT. Volunteer Fair brings organizations from across Niagara to Brock to share available volunteer opportunities and connect with the Brock community. Volunteer Fair 2021 will take place virtually using HopIn. Registration details will be sent to anyone who RSVPs prior to the event on ExperienceBU. You will have the chance to talk with representatives from community partners to learn more about their work and how you can get involved.

Did you miss VolunteerFest but still want to connect to local agencies?

Community organizations looking to connect or recruit Brock students are able to create a profile in our directory and post events and volunteer opportunities on ExperienceBU through the Community Engagement & Volunteering page. Check out the Community Partner directory (found on the page’s Documents gallery) to find over 50 agencies looking to connect with students and check out any upcoming events and opportunities.

Here are some other resources on campus that can help too:

For resources and tips for finding volunteer agencies and opportunities, you can visit the CareerZone Resource Centre in person (located at the back of Guernsey Market) or check CareerZone online to access a variety of tools and resources related to jobs and volunteer opportunities!

Whether it is helping students move in, getting students oriented or assisting with initiatives like Wellness Week or Isaac’s Army, BUSU offers a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Looking to volunteer abroad?

Check out Solidarity Experiences Abroad, Student Life’s Alternative Reading Week trips, or International Services for opportunities to travel, learn about the world and make a difference in your own life and in the lives of others.
