We’re delighted to share good news from our graduate students!
Returning MA student Madison Poole has been been awarded a Graduate Student Scholarship for Studies in the History of Ideas from the Sansom Ideas Foundation. The Robert and Moira Sansom Ideas Foundation was established in 2013 with the intention to create a Graduate Student Scholarship for Studies in the History of Ideas, granted to students whose work relates to the History of Ideas including political science, history, philosophy, and the history of art.
First-year MA student Léo Beaudoin is the 2025 recipient of the Desmond Conacher Scholarship awarded by the Classical Association of Canada (CAC). The scholarship is offered in memory of Desmond Conacher, formerly Professor of Classics at Trinity College, Toronto, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and Honorary President of the CAC. Endowed through donations from his family, friends, colleagues, and universities with which he was associated, the scholarship aims to assist and encourage young scholars entering graduate studies in classics. Léo is the third consecutive Brock MA student to be awarded this honour, following in the footsteps of Connor O’Rourke (2024) and Daniel Belanger (2023). MA alumnus Elliot Fuller also received the award in 2015.
Congratulations to Léo and Madison!
