Archaeology and Travel Opportunities

Experiential education engages students in first-hand experiences in order to develop skills, clarify values, contribute to local and global communities, and make learning come alive. Two major portions of experiential learning in the Department of Classics and Archaeology are the Archaeological Practica and Study Tours.

Archaeological Practicum (Field School)

Excavation experience is central to archaeological training, so we have created an intensive summer course to expose students to the rigours of fieldwork.

Study Tours and Travel

These courses provide excellent opportunities to experience ancient cultures first-hand through their monuments, art, and artifacts with visits to archaeological sites and museums.
