Have you ever wondered how our brain activity relates to sustained attention as we age?

  • What is this study about?

The aim of this study is to help further our understanding of how our ability to sustain attention changes as we age. This study will help to further our understanding of how the mind and brain change in normal, healthy aging.

  • Who can participate?

Older adults aged 60 to 80, who are fluent in English, have normal or corrected to normal vision, enough motor function to use a keyboard, and no history of memory impairment (e.g., dementia or cognitive decline), or head injury (i.e., concussion).

  • What’s involved in participating?

A 2.5 hour, in-person lab session at Brock University where participants will be asked to complete computer tasks that will test their ability to pay attention. They will also have their brain’s electrical activity measured via their scalp using an EEG. This involves applying a gel to the scalp, which can be easily washed off after the session is completed by using materials provided in the lab.

  • What do individuals get for participating?

Participants will be compensated $30 (CAD) for the session.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form below and a researcher from the lab will contact you at their earliest convenience!
