Department of Kinesiology: Three paths to a health profession
Our Kinesiology degree programs will prepare you for a career as a health professional.
You will gain valuable experiences in laboratory, community and clinical settings. This will provide you with the foundation for other advanced degrees related to human movement and exercise therapy, including sport medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetics/orthotics and chiropractic.
Our Physical Education program will prepare you for a career in teaching, health promotion and therapy.
You will gain valuable experiences in a variety of community and classroom settings. This will provide you with opportunities to promote health and wellness through physical activity.
Do you want to become a health professional working in a clinical or educational setting?
This degree program emphasizes the biophysical, behavioural and socio-cultural aspects of kinesiology, including exercise prescription and rehabilitation, fitness programming, nutrition for sport and health, and clinical assessment.
Do you want a kinesiology degree that includes a masters?
The Concurrent Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) and Master of Professional Kinesiology (MPK) is the first and only program of its kind in Canada. Students can now plan their academic program, including a graduate degree, from entry into university, getting a head start on other students. Experiential education throughout the BKin, coupled with 450 practicum hours as part of the MPK program ensure that students gain both the knowledge and practical skills to succeed in future health-related careers.

Brock’s Bachelor of Physical Education degree offers you the opportunity to study human movement, performance and physical literacy, while creating activity programs that meet the needs of various populations.
This program will teach you both the theory and practice of coaching, fitness assessments, sport injury prevention and care. You will be given the opportunity to learn about socio-cultural perspectives and disability studies to meet the individual needs of those you may be working with in the future.
Many of our courses are activity-based and include opportunities to gain practical experience through experiential education.
