Dr. Nathan Hall is an Associate Professor of Physical Education and Kinesiology. He completed his doctorate in Secondary Education (focus on physical education) at the University of Alberta. His research and teaching are centered around physical literacy, physical activity, and physical education pedagogy. Specifically, Dr. Hall is highly interested in the content delivered in physical education programs and the benefits of introducing children to a wide variety of activities that can promote physical health and well-being across the lifespan. Consequently, a central focus of his present research and teaching is the incorporation of alternative environment activities (AEAs) in physical education programs. Other current research interests include examining the mental imagery use of physical educators, assessment of physical literacy, and supporting the development of physical literacy in early childhood. Nathan is presently the Chief Editor for the Physical and Health Education (PHE) Canada associated academic journal (Revue phénEPS / PHEnex Journal ) and is a Past Chair for the PHE Canada Research Council.
