The Department of Health Sciences has a unique culture where faculty and staff understand the multidimensional nature of health and how each faculty member’s work contributes to the overall mission of understanding and improving health locally, nationally and internationally.

Our renowned scholars are experts in the area of public health, aging, infectious diseases, obesity, rehabilitation, drug policy, health promotion, mental health and chronic diseases. Faculty are extensively funded for their research endeavors and provide undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities to be involved in ground breaking research.

Unique to the Department of Health Sciences is the focus on applied research where faculty are committed to applying the knowledge gained through research to advance real world changes in the health sector.
