Certificate in Aboriginal Adult Education

Welcome to the Certificate in Aboriginal Adult Education Program

By now you will have received information from the Office of the Registrar that outlines some of the ways you will need to use the Brock University website. There are several reasons why you will need to know how to navigate the Brock University website:

1. Registration and the Aboriginal Adult Education Guide

You will need to know how to go online and register into each of the five core courses starting with the first course ABED 4F84.

To navigate to the Aboriginal Adult Education Guide to assist you with your registration at Brock University. From www.brocku.ca select Admissions and click Teacher Education. On the Teacher Education page click Aboriginal Education.

Once at the Aboriginal Adult Education Guide refer to the Main Menu down the right hand side of the screen click on Information on Registration.

You will be on the Aboriginal Adult Education Registration Links page. Please note that this page has very good information about Registration, Course Information, Course Schedules, Program Requirements, Additional Resources, and the Tecumseh Centre home page. It is a good idea to click on all of these links and read through them to get a good understanding of the program.

You will want to select, How to Register from the menu.

Once you are in the How to Register page you can either do a tutorial on how to register or follow the instructions on that page.

2. Fees

You will need to know how much the courses are and what additional fees that you may encounter. Follow the same route as above only when you get to the Aboriginal Adult Education Registration Links page just click on Fees from the Course Information menu.

3. Keep Track of Financial Statements

You must know how you are going to be billed, and where to find all of your financial information. (Your financial information is often needed to fax or mail to your funder to keep your funding in good standing.)

Login with your student ID number, the alphanumeric ID (e.g. aa09xy) and password at my.brocku.ca. Click on Applicant & Student Self Serve. There will be a list of menu items in red. Go into all of these so that you have a good understanding of what is available to you. You can print off the information that you need and forward it to your funder if necessary.

4. Answer your emails

You will want to keep yourself in the loop by using the Brock University email system. To set up your email account, log in with your student ID, the alphanumeric ID (e.g. aa09xy), and password that you received when you registered.
