Adam Upshaw

Dr. Upshaw holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology and Metabolism from the University of Western Ontario, a Master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Toronto (OISE) and a Master’s of Science degree specializing in Advanced Fitness Assessment from York University.

Further, Dr. Upshaw is the founder and Director of Train to Treat, a pro bono individualized exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness service for those recovering from alcohol and drug addiction (as well as for those seeking counselling services for anxiety and depression), who wish to include sport participation into their recovery.

Additionally, Dr. Upshaw is a registered Kinesiologist (RKin – Ontario, 2008), a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP; 2003), a High-Performance Specialist (CSEP, 2019), and former President of the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.
