The Department of Sociology is dedicated to providing a high quality educational experience for our students.

We provide students with a solid foundation in sociological theory and methodology as well as providing a breadth of knowledge in topic areas of interest to students of the social world - family and gender studies, race and racialization, animal rights and speciesism, labour studies, and critical criminology.

The Department positions itself as progressive and committed to ideas of social justice.
