The following awards and bursaries are available to students in Sociology.

Undergraduate awards
$250 (Non-renewable)
Number Awarded: 1
Established in memory of the late Morris Berkowitz, professor of Sociology. Awarded by the Department of Sociology to a full-time student or students who have demonstrated need and have a major average of 75 percent or better in his or her most recent year of study. Applicants must meet Ontario residency requirements.
$475 (Non-renewable)
Number Awarded: 1
Awarded to a mature student in her/his graduating year with a single major or combined major in Sociology, on the basis of financial need, academic merit and significant personal contribution and support to the Sociology department. Applicants must meet Ontario residency requirements.
$1250 (Non-renewable)
Number Awarded: 2
Awarded to a Brock University student in any year of study, registered in either Women’s Studies or Sociology. Preference will be given to a single parent.
$450 (Non-renewable)
Number Awarded: 1
Awarded to an upper year student with a declared major in Sociology with a minimum average of 70%. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet Ontario residency requirements.

Number Awarded: 2
Awarded to a Sociology student who is concentrating in Critical Animal Studies. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet Ontario residency requirements.

Awarded to a current full time student with a concentration in Critical Animal Studies. Applicants should demonstrate a passion for animal rights.
