Dr. Miles Howe is an Assistant Professor of Critical Criminology at Brock University. He earned his BA (Honours) and MA in Sociology at the University of Ottawa and his PhD at Queen’s University. Research and instruction interests include policing tactics, protest movements, and surveillance. His PhD research centred on tracking the importation of Anglo-American, neoliberal-obedient, epistemologies into Canada, specifically within Canadian academia. This work is ongoing and focuses particularly on mapping the extent of the permeations of this network, as well as outlining the impacts that such importations have had upon Canadian securitization priorities and policies.
