Brock University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department is responsible for providing maintenance and management of the Paging System that serves as a communications and notification device.
The system is also used to provide alarm awareness of critical systems such as power plant alarms, intrusion alarms, 911 alarms, sensitive laboratory alarms, etc. The paging system ties into the Emergency Notification System (ENS) by sending out pre-canned messages via email and SMS.
The Telecommunications team is responsible for programming all pagers. A service request ticket is issued and requires the department name and end user’s name. Telecommunications assigns a pager number and completes programming.
A service request is required to add any critical systems such as power plant alarms, intrusion alarms, 911 alarms, sensitive laboratory alarms etc. Telecommunications assesses the requirements, provides expertise and pricing.

Technicians assist users during regular service hours (see service hours). Response times may vary. Emergency assistance is available after hours on a case by case basis which is requested through Campus
