Network and Voice jacks are provided in all office areas and labs as part of building infrastructure. Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all network and voice cabling terminations across the university.
ITS staff is responsible for the coordination and installation of all new/additional network and/or voice jacks. A request must be submitted by contacting the Help Desk. A ticket is issued and assigned to an ITS staff member who meets with the requestor to determine the scope of work. If the work is approved, the department must provide a cost centre number or an FM project number. Cabling is completed by an external contractor. Estimated turnaround time will be provided once the request has been processed. If repairs are required on existing wall jacks, the department must issue a service request at the Help Desk. Once the ticket has been issued, it is assigned and queued for a service technician who will make arrangements for the repair to be completed.
