The enclosure of the Thistle Courtyard and new Marketplace food service will create over 11,000 sf of student meeting, eating, study and lounge space ideally positioned at the centre of the academic campus between the Learning Commons, Thistle Lecture Halls, and Tower buses.
The new roof will hover 10’ above the podium with perimeter (clerestory) glazing on all sides for natural lighting. A new stair will be built at the southwest corner for improved access.
The new Marche located in the area of the old cafeteria will feature farm fresh products with dining choices ranging from rotisserie chicken to ‘shaker’ salads; from freshly made crepes to custom signature pizzas; and our showpiece 5’ diameter Niagara Grill. A new convenience section will offer freshly made take-home entrees and local produce and preserves.
