About

Information Technology Services is responsible for maintaining a private, campus-wide Cable Television system that is provided in living rooms and lounges for the following residences: Alan Earp, Arnie Lowenberger, Decew, Vallee, Village, Gateway, and Quarry View.

This system receives programming from multiple sources, including Bell satellite channels, and free OTA (over-the-air) antenna broadcasts. The channel lineup consists of a variety of programming, including major Canadian and American networks, specialty channels, music and entertainment channels, news and sports networks, movie channels, and special interest programs.

For a complete listing of all of the channels please check the Cable TV Channels page. The bulk of the programming is broadcast using the common NTSC (analog) standard; with a small selection of digital ATSC channels (some in High Definition) broadcast as well.

Service Expectations

Telecom staff is responsible for maintaining the CATV cable plant infrastructure across campus as well as main head end where the channels are generated. They are responsible for maintaining the integrity of cable signal from the head end to the connection at the remote end cable jack.
