Application Resources

Applications to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) should not be taken lightly. Here are some helpful videos, tips, and templates to help you build a thorough application.

Recommendations

We recommend all applications to IRCC be accompanied by a letter of explanation. This is a 1 to 2-page cover letter for your application to help IRCC determine your eligibility for the document you are applying for. Unless specified by your local visa office (for applications made outside Canada), there is no specific format you must follow. Letters must be written in your own words.

Note: When completing applications, it is always recommended that you download the most up-to-date forms directly from the IRCC website. Never save forms for future use as they can change without notice.
