Dear PHIL MA Grad Students/Teaching Assistants–
Allow me to welcome you to Brock and the Philosophy MA Program. I’m sure you’ve all been in touch with Prof. Colman, our GPD. Every year we run a TA training workshop and meet and greet session in the department. I would thus like to invite you to a TA training session/workshop as well as our opening of term meet and greet gathering on Tuesday, September 3 at 10am in 273 Glenridge (Philosophy Department).
Please see the attached document for some of the issues we’ll be discussing in the TA workshop. This session is not a departmental orientation, but rather is preparatory for your work as a TA. We have a small cohort of grad. students this year, but I will try to generate interest from some other programs with new TAs.
After our morning session, there will be a meet and greet session with faculty, instructors, fellow TAs, and Philosophy majors. This is an excellent networking opportunity and a great way to begin the academic year with the department.
I highly recommend that you attend this session, please confirm with me. It has greatly benefited new TAs each year.
