My study within the Italian Program at Brock has been indispensable to my development, both as a thinker and as an individual. The program allowed me to cultivate an interest in and explore a wide array of subject matter – everything from literature, art and architecture to cinema and linguistics. The first-class faculty instilled within me a passion for higher thought, always prodding me to widen my perspective and to appreciate more fully the beauty of the world and of the human experience. The program has prepared me particularly well to succeed in my current study of law at Osgoode Hall, providing me with a valuable foundation in humanistic thought and critical thinking. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to study within such an inspiring learning environment, with such brilliant minds, and more importantly, with such great people. I highly recommend the program.

My time studying in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures was very positive, as I was offered a very well-rounded education in the Humanities that allowed me to greatly improve my linguistic competence in both French and Italian[…]. I was also able to spend my 3rd year studying abroad at the Université de Savoie in France! I am now off to do my masters in European Studies and owe everything to Brock’s Modern Languages Department. If you are a student looking to immerse yourself in European culture and civilization, Brock is the place for you!
