Preparing to Graduate & Convocation

Congratulations! If you have landed on this page you are preparing to graduate. Here is information most students need to know.

1. Intent to Graduate Form. To graduate, you must meet all the requirements of your program, and complete your Intent to Graduate information for the Office of the Registrar through your MyBrocku.ca portal.

2. Watch the video. All graduating students (FOE) should watch the video below to review key information.

3. Explore the convocation website.  Questions about convocation – the day of celebration – and other aspects of graduation should be directed to the Office of the Registrar. Most questions are answered here.

  • BEd (Concurrent and Consecutive) students must also be aware of the following information from the Registrar regarding the certification process with the OCT and the Faculty Report: The certification process with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) requires candidates to submit an application and transcripts to the OCT, and Brock to submit the Faculty Report of qualifications. Please note that Brock cannot send your recommendation to the College without your application number. (The application number is a 6-digit number and will be your Registration Number upon certification).
  • Upon receipt of the 6-digit number from the OCT, upload this number through your Brock student portal, Student Self Serve area. Please complete this step prior to June 1 when we download the information from the system to create the file for the OCT.
  • Arrange to have your teaching transcripts sent to the College AFTER your Convocation. If you make a transcript request prior to Convocation, your transcript will not read “Degree Conferred” and your certification may be delayed. If you are ordering your transcript prior to Convocation, please ensure you select the printing option “Hold until degree conferred” or, simply make the transcript request after your Convocation date. This step is especially important for Concurrent students who will have both the undergraduate degree and teaching degree noted on the transcript.

Ordering University Transcripts, Forms & Letters

Most Brock documents (letters, forms, transcripts etc.) are available through the Office of the Registrar.

Go to https://brocku.ca/registrar and select Brock Central Toolkit on the navigation bar. Next, select your option (medical forms, registration guides and timetables, exams, dates and deadlines, tuition and fees, forms and self-service, transcripts, enrolment letters, convocation, domestic fee information).

To order university letters, watch the video below and proceed to this link.

All transcripts must be ordered via the my.brocku.ca student portal.

Please go to your Student Self-Serve to log in using your Campus ID and password.

  • If you have forgotten your Campus ID and/or password, please click on the ‘Forgot your student password’ link
  • If you have never set up your Student Self-Serve portal, please click on the ‘Applicant, New, Returning Student or Alumni’ link
  • If you do not remember your Student ID Number, please contact Brock Central at central@brocku.ca

Once your account has been activated and/or you have logged in, please click on the Brock DB Menu. Under Student Access, click on TranscriptRqst. This will direct you to the online transcript request. Please ensure you take the time to fill out all of the steps, as the Office of the Registrar is not responsible for any requests that are completed incorrectly.

  • Your request will ONLY be processed once complete payment has been received
  • OCT requires transcripts sent directly to their address
  • Most teacher candidates will select ‘Order Upon Degree Completion’
