After months of work, three high school technology teams will be presenting their entries for the 2018 Brock Maker Challenge next week.
The Brock Maker Challenge is a form of Active Project-Based Learning that challenges broad-based technology (BBT) high school class teams to tackle a real-world challenge with a focus on research, design, cooperation, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Over the past year Brock Education Journal has gained further recognition by being newly listed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) within the Web of Science. ESCI is linked to a wider circulation of international readers. Hence, authors of BEJ gain greater visibility. We are also pleased that BEJ has been relisted with the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The two listings signal that BEJ produces quality, peer reviewed open access material and is committed to contributing positively to the scholarly open access community.Read more

Join Dr. Mina Sedaghatjou, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education, for a Math Ed Seminar Series @ Brock event on Feb. 12 at 10:00 a.m. in TA403.
Faculty, staff, instructors and graduate students in the Faculty of Education are invited to participate in a professional development session on working with students and mental health issues. Representatives from Brock’s Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre will be facilitating a panel presentation followed by workshop style activities.
Student mental health is an ever growing concern across University campuses. Mental health concerns affect academic performance, class attendance, and interpersonal relationships. With suicide as the second leading cause of death among young adults (and typical age of the onset of mental illness being under 24), awareness, prevention and intervention are paramount. This workshop will provide participants a working knowledge of the campus’s mental health concerns, mental health accommodations, and intervention for students of concern. Participants will leave with working knowledge of mental illness and an understanding of their role in support and intervention.
