Student E-mail Support

Students who are currently enrolled in a course are automatically assigned an e-mail account. This e-mail account is also referred to as a “Badger” account, in reference to the name of the student e-mail server. Your Badger account will remain active as long as you are a registered student.

Note: Your Badger e-mail will expire 16 months after your last registered course. It is the student’s responsibility to plan for this expiration accordingly after their completion of study at Brock University.

There are many ways to check your e-mail including Webmail ( In order to log-in however, you need to know your CAMPUS ID (e.g. xx64xx), as well as your password.


If you prefer to configure an e-mail client such as Thunderbird of Microsoft Outlook, the following settings will be required:

Incoming Mail Server
Server Type: IMAP
Incoming Server:
Security Settings: Use secure connection (SSL) Port 993
User Name: your CAMPUS ID (eg. xx64xx)

Outgoing Mail Server
SMTP Server:
Requires authentication
Security settings: Use secure connection (STARTTLS) Port 587

A Few Points to Keep in Mind...

• You must set your password on the Brock University Portal web page before trying to log into Badger.
• Your login ID will be assigned when you activate your Lab Account.
