Alex Sykes (BA ’22)
Dramatic Arts, Production and Design Concentration
Alex Sykes graduated from DART in 2022 with a concentration in Production and Design. Since graduating, Alex has continued his studies at The National Theatre School of Canada in the Production, Design and Technical Arts Program. For two seasons, Alex worked as the Head of Lighting with Lighthouse Festival Theatre, designed several shows for The Foster Festival and has been developing an immersive storytelling experience with 2 other DART Grads (Taylor Bogaert & Josh Loewen). Coming up, Alex is joining the Shaw Festival for their 2025 season as an Assistant Lighting Designer. He’s also designing two shows for the Foster Festivals 10th season, and will be back at Lighthouse Festival Theatre designing their final two shows of their season. During his second year at DART, Alex’s love for technical theatre flourished when he learned foundational skills in lighting, sound, technical direction and design. Throughout his time at Brock he was able to deeply explore each of these concepts. DART allowed Alex to learn the theory of theatre processes and apply his knowledge to practical hands on work throughout the departments productions; he uses the skills he learned at Brock everyday.

Suzanne MacArthur (BA ’08)

“I am a professional stage manager with the Canadian Actors Equity Association. I am in my 17th season at the Grand Theatre in London, ON. Highlights of my career thus far have been 6 seasons with the Stratford Festival, Mirvish, Neptune Theatre, Drayton Entertainment and training many apprentice stage managers along the way!
I am a proud grad of the DART- Design and Production program at Brock University.”

Alana Peri (BA ’13)
Dramatic Arts
“After graduating from Brock University, I continued my education at the CREATE Institute, where I became an Expressive Arts Therapist. During a practicum placement, I discovered Purple Carrots Drama Studio, a place that resonated deeply with my passion for using the arts to foster creativity and inclusion. Fast forward to 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic threatened the future of Purple Carrots Drama Studio, I saw an opportunity to step in and take ownership of the studio. Purple Carrots specializes in working with neurodiverse individuals, including those on the autism spectrum and others with diverse abilities. The studio’s programs are tailored to nurture self-expression, social skills and self-esteem in a safe and welcoming environment. Our approach ensures that participants not only explore the arts but also gain the tools to build meaningful relationships and advocate for inclusion.”

Caroline Coon (BA ’17)
Dramatic Arts
“I have been working as an actor with a number of companies across New Brunswick doing both plays and musicals. Recent credits include: Rock of Ages (Rogue Productions), Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberley and The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley (Theatre New Brunswick), The Sound of Music (Capitol Theatre), Salt-Water Moon (Non-Stop Theatrics), and Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing (Bard and the Barracks). In the Spring of 2024, I also co-founded Non-Stop Theatrics, a theatre company based out of Fredericton that is dedicated to providing training, mentorship, and paid performance opportunities for theatre artists of all backgrounds.
The training I received at Brock, especially the emphasis on gaining experience in areas across theatre beyond just performing, has been integral in my career and I’m so grateful for my time in the DART program!”

Carla-Marie Agbonwaneten (BA ’11)
Dramatic Arts
“I have been teaching theatre full time at a high school since 2013. Brock prepared me to put my theory into practice and I am now able to challenge my students the same way I was once challenged. My teachers at Brock pushed me to become the best version of my artistic self and now I ask the same from my students. I love watching my students come alive through their character work, and being on the other side of the coin gives me perspective for how my mentors felt. My teachers at Brock really gave me a confidence and appreciation for the Arts, something for which I am eternally grateful.”

Anastasia Boake (BA ’11)
Dramatic Arts, Honours BA Drama in Education
“I graduated Brock University Theatre arts program with an Honours BA in Drama in Education and a Minor in Child and Youth Studies. Post graduation, I began mycareer at the Niagara Catholic District School Board. After working six years in education, I decided to follow my passion of teaching youth and promoting the arts in her community. I am a performer at heart-having performed at the Shaw Festival, Theatre Aquarius and many local community theatre companies. In 2015 I opened my own theatre company in Ridgeway, ON. Down the Rabbit Hole Theatre Company is a children’s theatre company that offers classes, camps, and workshops to hundreds of children in the Niagara Region.”

Alexandra Chubaty Boychuk (BA ’20)
Dramatic Arts, Performance Concentration
“When the pandemic hit and theatre work was almost non existent right after I graduated with a theatre degree, I transitioned to more film acting work! I am proud to have recently joined ACTRA and was in a film that premiered at TIFF this year (“Aberdeen”), and have a role in another that will be getting a full theatrical release within the next few years (“The Zealot”). I’ve also returned to my theatre roots via the fringe circuit – my boyfriend and I created our own show together called “Goose!” — think campy 70s horror movie, but the monster is the Canada goose — which sold out at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. My experience with DART 4F56 especially helped prepare me for all that comes with creating a show for Fringe, from gathering props, to acting, to choreographing, and more. I am so grateful for the wonderful instruction I had at Brock University, with a special recognition and appreciation for Mike Griffin and Karen Fricker.”

Kaytlynn Milligan-Arsenault (BA ’15)
Dramatic Arts, BA combined Dramatic Arts and Philosophy
“I graduated from Brock University in 2015 with a combined BA in Dramatic Arts and Philosophy. While at Brock University, I had the chance to take their Makeup and Scenic Painting courses which helped me develop a love of design. Since Graduation, I’ve moved to Toronto, re-enrolled at Complections International College, one of the top 5 Makeup Schools in North America, and have graduated from there as well. I’ve had the chance to be a makeup artist on major productions like the movie Suicide Squad, the Netflix series Suits, as well as commercials for major companies like Huggies Diapers, Tourism Hamilton and Medallia Customer Experience.
Brock was a great foundation of my studies because of the amazing production, design and stagecraft courses that the department uniquely offers. I couldn’t have picked a better university to attend.”

Asenia Lyall (BA ’22)
Dramatic Arts
“I graduated from the Scriptwriting and Story Design MFA at Toronto Metropolitan University this fall. This is a two-year program where I learned writing for film and television and completed a portfolio with a short film script, two TV pilots, and (for my Master’s thesis project,) a feature film script. I am pictured here at the Creative School graduation reception with my parents and boyfriend.”

Richard Marty (BA ’08)
Dramatic Arts
“Since graduation, I have been fortunate enough to work as an actor, director, producer, stage manager, and workshop facilitator with various theatre companies across Southern Ontario. The summer after graduation, fellow Brock grads Jess Falcioni, Matthew Viviano and I remounted our 4F56 production for a sold-out run in Thunder Bay. Since then, some of my favourite credits include performing in Theatre by the Bay’s hugely successful premiere, and subsequent tour, of ‘We Must Have More Men!’. Currently, I work in the City of Barrie’s Culture Department and as an independent contractor with companies in the South Simcoe area. Since 2018, I have been a proud collective member of Theatre Georgian Bay (TGB). In partnership with the Town of Collingwood, TGB produces its annual outdoor Bard on the Bay production on a pay-what-you-will basis to help eliminate any financial barrier between people and the performing arts.
Even better, I get to share the stage with my talented wife!”
