Undergraduate Students

We have some of the most advanced equipment in the field and we actually let you use it! While other schools often reserve the newest equipment for research only, at Brock, all facilities are used for both teaching and research.

Undergraduate students are key partners in our research activities, participating in special research courses and paid summer research. You might have the opportunity to co-author a publication!

Our commitment to hands-on learning makes our graduates especially skilled and adept scientists. Our Chemistry students have been accepted into the best graduate schools in North America. In fact, graduates report that they are better prepared than many of their fellow students in their graduate programs.

Our graduates are highly sought after. Currently, Brock graduates are developing new drugs at Dupont-Merck, NovaPharm, Salk Institute of Biotechnology, Parke-Davis, Johnson and Johnson; and are working on chemical research at Enbridge-Consumers Gas, Custom Pharmaceutical, Symyx Technologies, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and many more.

If your focus is on the environment, the BSc Honours in Chemistry-Environmental Stream will be of interest.

The Chemistry Co-op program allows you to combine academic and work terms, and gain valuable work experience. As a co-op student, your degree will be completed in four and one-half to five years and will include three four-month work terms. You will complete two to four academic terms before beginning your first work placement.

Graduates of the Chemical Engineering Technology program at Mohawk
College may be eligible to receive 6.5 credits towards a BSc Honours in Chemistry at Brock.
