  • FREE EVENT April 19 – Concussions – What are they and what should I be doing?

    Please join us for a free talk as part of Brock University’s Centre for Lifespan Development Research’s Speaker Series, in collaboration with Brock University’s Centre for Sport Capacity, and Faculty of Applied Health Sciences.

    Topic: Concussions – What are they and what should I be doing?

    Who: Anyone interested in concussions – Parents, sport organizations, policy makers, organizations, educators, practitioners, coaches, and the general public.

    When: Thursday April 19 – 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

    Where: Brock University, Sean O’Sullivan Theatre -1812 Sir Isaac Brock Way, St. Catharines, Ont., L2S 3A1

    Free parking will be provided in D lot for all attendees.

    • Have you or a family member ever experienced a concussion?
    • Has your organization been working towards a concussion policy?
    • Are you a coach or educator who is concerned about concussions?

    Dr. Charles Tator, Neurosurgeon, along with a panel of Brock University faculty, students and alumni, will provide an overview of the current state of concussions from a broad perspective.

    Speakers will use their own research to explain key issues for parents, organizations, policy makers, educators, practitioners, coaches, and the general public.

    This is event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required as space is limited. Please register here. Please note that you DO NOT need to print your ticket for this event.

  • FREE EVENT Oct 12 – Well-Being and Aging: Understanding our beliefs and experiences of well-being across the lifespan

    Please join us for a free talk as part of Brock University’s Centre for Lifespan Development Research’s Speaker Series and Growing With Brock.

    Living a happy and satisfying life is among our most important personal goals. During this community information evening, Brock Psychology professor Dr. Michael Busseri will discuss different ways of thinking about and experiencing well-being across the lifespan. Dr. Busseri will also discuss his own research on individuals’ beliefs about aging and well-being — providing tips and information to help the Niagara community better understand these important issues.

  • FREE EVENT Sept 30 – Sleep 101: From Zzzzs to A’s Promoting Healthy Sleep for Children Aged 3 – 7 years

    Please join us for a free talk as part of Brock University’s Centre for Lifespan Development Research’s Speaker Series and Growing With Brock. Spend the morning with Krista Guenther, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant. She’ll discuss the key elements to providing a healthy foundation of sleep for your preschooler to school aged child. Krista will be able to give you the tools you need to ensure a well rested family.

    This is a family friendly event. Parents are welcome to bring their child to in to the talk however, Growing with Brock will be also providing free child-minding for registered children of parents attending the talk. *Children must be over 4 years of age and have registered here with a Child Care Reservation as there is limited availability for child care.* Free parking for attendees will also be provided.
