What is the study about?
- The purpose of this research project is to assess the reliability of panoramic ultrasound imaging to assess muscle size and muscle quality. This research will benefit medical, scientific, and human performance communities by providing a better understanding of muscle assessment techniques in children.
Who can participate?
- Children who are 4 – 12 years old and free of musculoskeletal injuries
What’s involved?
- Children will be asked to visit the Applied Physiology Lab at Brock University for two sessions. We will acquire muscle ultrasound images of the thigh muscles and assess leg muscle strength.
What do I get for participating?
- Participants will receive $15 in compensation for their time, as well as information about their muscle size and strength.
