Dr. Suzie Lane Award 

The Dr. Suzie Lane award will be granted to a graduating student who exemplifies Dr. Lane’s positive attitude and passion for the field of Therapeutic Recreation.

Selection: Selected by Senate based on the recommendation of the Chair, Department of Recreation and Leisure. Applications due on One App by May 31 annually.
Description:
• Awarded to a fourth year undergraduate student(s) in good academic standing who exemplifies Dr. Lane’s positive attitude and passion for the field of Therapeutic Recreation
• Preference will be given to a student who identifies as a member or supporter of the LGBTQ community
• Financial need
• Goal of this award is to cover or contribute to the cost of the fee to become a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). 

Recreation and Leisure Student Council Book Prize

Selection: Selected by the Department. Selection will be determined by grades and an experience profile.
Description: Awarded to a returning Recreation and Leisure Studies student with a major average of greater than 75% and who demonstrates promise to the profession. 

Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Travel Grant 

The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences has established an Undergraduate Travel Grant Fund for up to $500.00 to enable undergraduate students to present their original, peer-reviewed honours thesis research at an academic conference.
