DCB FAQs

Where do I get my DCB card?
Your DCB card is your Brock ID Card. You can replace your student card at any time by contacting Brock Card at 905-688-5550 ext. 4770.

How do I activate my Meal Plan?
No activation is required.

Where to find us?
Throughout the year, come and see us at our main office in the DeCew Residence located upstairs beside the Dining Hall. Our regular office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The Brock Card Office is located at the bottom floor of the Tower in the Marketplace.

Is there a sign-up deadline?
You can sign up anytime. However, there are usually lineups in September, so it's best to set up your DCB in the summer.

Can I bring a guest and use my DCB?
Yes, you can.

Is PST/GST extra?
No tax is applied when you purchase DCB; tax is applied when you make retail purchases based on what you are buying.

Can I pay cash for meals or use DCB?
Yes, you can do both.

How will the cashier know if I'm using my Meal Plan dollars or DCB?
For your convenience and speed of service, the cash register is programmed to use your Meal Plan first at DeCew/Lowenberger Dining Halls and the Walker Food Court. At Tim Horton's, it will automatically deduct from DCB first and then default to Meal Plan dollars once no remaining balance of DCB. Only DCB can be used at any other food outlet on campus and at off campus locations that accept the card. 

How will I know how much money I have left on my card?
The cash register display displays the combined meal plan and DCB funds you have left and you can go online to check your DCB fund balance by visiting https://card.brocku.ca. You can also ask for a balance check by calling the Brock Card Office during business hours.

Can I add DCB at any time?
Yes. DCB funds can be added to your card 24/7 by using the online loading site at https://card.brocku.ca.

What if I lose my card?
If your card is lost or stolen, you may deactivate your card to protect your DCB and Meal Plan funds by visiting  https://card.brocku.ca and using the 'Deactive Card' feature, or you may contact the Brock Card Office for more information and assistance during business hours.  If your card is damaged, bring it with you to the Brock Card Office and a replacement card can be printed (depending on damage, fees may apply).  If you find your lost card, contact the Brock Card Office for assistance in reactivating  your card.

Does DCB carryover to next year or do I get a refund?
DCB funds will automatically carry over to the next academic year unless a refund is requested. A refund fee of $25 applies to all DCB refund requests.

How can I pay for DCB that is not part of a Meal Plan?
All Brock ID Cardholders can add DCB funds by visiting https://card.brocku.ca. You can also pay for DCB funds added to your card by cash, cheque or debit at the Brock Card Office.

Why not just pay with cash?
DCB is like "meal insurance" — you always know it's there when you need it! You don't have to make a trip to the ATM or carry cash around. It's much quicker and easier; plus you don't have to pay transaction or monthly fees.
