Nicole Nolan has been appointed as Brock’s Interim University Librarian, effective May 1. Nolan has served as Brock’s Associate University Librarian, Research since 2017. From July 1 to Oct. 31, 2022, she also took on the role of Acting University Librarian while an administrative leave was fulfilled.
After seven years at the helm of Brock Library, University Librarian Mark Robertson has accepted a role as Chief Librarian at Toronto Metropolitan University Libraries. His time at Brock will conclude at the end of April.
As permitted under the University’s Policy on the Appointment of Academic Administrators, Nolan has been appointed to lead the Brock Library for up to two years as a search to fill the position is conducted.
Nolan joined Brock in 2017 from Western University, where she held several administrative positions with Western Libraries. She graduated from Western with a Master of Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
During her time with Brock Library, she has been involved with leading the implementation of the Library’s new Omni search interface; collaborating on the Building Better Research workshop series; co-chairing the Research Data Management Strategy Working Group; and contributing to the Library’s organizational redesign, among others.
