Approval to 4th-Year Honours

Application deadline: April 30 of the preceding academic year.

What you need to qualify:

• A minimum 70 History major average*
• A minimum of 7.0 HIST credits (or 5.0 for a combined major)**
• A completed and signed application form submitted by the deadline
• Approval of the History Department

Students wishing to apply for admission should meet with the Faculty of Humanities Academic Advisor prior to the deadline. Set up an appointment here.

* If your History major average is slightly below 70 and you still wish to apply, please do. Particular circumstances may allow entry.

** If you do not have the right amount and level of HIST credit but will have these by August, you should still apply. Particular circumstances may allow entry.

Specialized 4th-Year Courses

Application deadline: March 31 of the preceding academic year.  

What you need to apply:

• Permission of potential supervisor
• A completed and signed application form (including description of reading field or research project as required, plan for evaluation, and supervisor’s signature)
