Tips for writing a strong letter of intent
Include the following:
- Details about your education, work, and/or volunteer experiences that have helped you prepare for graduate studies
- Past academic achievements
- A research question or range of questions that you would like to pursue in your studies. This should include details about the time and place you would like to study
- Specific reasons why Brock’s Department of History is a good fit for your research
- The name of one or more potential supervisors for your project
- Anything else you think is relevant to your application and possible future studies at Brock
- Note: We understand that you have a passion for history. You do not need to write much (or even anything) about this passion. Instead, please provide the information listed above.
