Our counselling services are here to support students’ mental health and well-being throughout their academic journey. Below are answers to some of the most common questions students and their supporters have about accessing services.
Personal Counselling services are free of charge for students who are registered in a minimum of 1.5 credits. Please note that students taking .5 or 1 credits are NOT eligible for Personal Counselling Services (with the exception of those registered with Student Accessibility Services who have documented accommodations for a lighter course load). Some exceptions may apply.
Personal Counselling Services provides short-term counselling/therapy. The duration and frequency of your support are determined collaboratively between you and your counselor, based on your goals, progress, and personal needs, while also guided by your counselor’s clinical judgment to ensure the most appropriate care.
Your therapeutic relationship with your counsellor will cease once you graduate from Brock University and/or are no longer registered as a student or are no longer paying ancillary fees. Counselling services will end on August 31st of the year you have graduated from Brock. Students with October convocations are eligible until December 31st of the same year.
