The Campus Store is sharing important updates regarding course materials and the adoptions process.

Recognizing that the transition of Campus Store operations to Follett over the past several months has not been without challenges, particularly in the realm of course materials and adoptions, Brock has been working closely with Follett to address these concerns and the following process improvements are being implemented:

Centralized Course Materials Contact

The Campus Store team is introducing a central contact point for all course materials inquiries, along with a dedicated Brock University email address for all related communications. This will help prevent emails from being flagged as spam. Instructors can contact Follett’s course materials team through email at [email protected] or can connect with Dana, Course Materials Market Manager, by phone at 519-980-0720.

New Adoptions Tool

The Campus Store is also launching Follett Discover Adopt, a streamlined web-based platform that enables faculty to submit and manage adoptions through a centralized hub. This new tool will replace the previous adoptions form. Discover Adopt will be available through the My Materials link on Brightspace and the Textbooks menu on the Campus Store website.

NOTE: Only Instructors assigned to teach Winter courses will be able to access Discover Adopt at this time.Instructors will be notified directly via email as adoptions open for subsequent terms.

Adoptions Support

Follett will host virtual training sessions via Teams and in-person drop-in sessions on campus. These sessions will demonstrate how to login and navigate around the new tool and provide an opportunity to ask questions of the Follett team.

Faculty are invited to drop into ST231 in the Learning Commons during the times below to receive one-on-one support with course material adoptions.

• Tuesday, October 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Thursday, October 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Monday, October 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Wednesday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you and another Instructor are teaching the same course section, please submit your adoption information via email to the course materials team at [email protected].

Support and assistance with Open Education Resources is available through the Brock Library and questions can be directed to Teaching & Learning Librarian, Kymberly Ash, at [email protected]. Library materials can be requested through the Library’s Course Readings Service and can be linked directly in your Brightspace course. Other Campus Store initiatives are also underway, including pricing audits and the establishment of a course materials advisory committee to ensure transparency, efficiency and open communication.
