New team award added to Distinguished Staff Service awards

Now in its 26th year, the Distinguished Staff Service Awards event is one of the most prestigious celebrations on the University’s calendar and is an opportunity for the Brock community to come together to honour the individual accomplishments of our colleagues and the milestones that have been reached throughout the past year.

New for 2021, the Office of the President and Vice-Chancellor has created an award that celebrates the power of teamwork, which allows us to leverage the benefits of multiple perspectives, skills and experiences to perform the extraordinary. This has been particularly important over the last 18 months, as we worked together to see Brock successfully through some very difficult times.

It is my pleasure to announce the introduction of the Brock University Outstanding Team Service Award.

The purpose of this award is to provide annual recognition for faculty and staff members who, as a team, have made an outstanding contribution throughout the year, beyond what is normally expected, to:

  • The provision of exceptional service to staff, faculty, students, alumni, donors, or visitors; or
  • The identification of measures that contribute to the effectiveness of University operations; or
  • A direct or indirect contribution that positively impacts the University community, be it internal or external (ex. a contribution that impacts student success, or that impacts the reputation of Brock).

The deadline for nominations for the Brock University Outstanding Team Service Award is Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.

The call for nominations letter with details on award criteria and administration, as well as the required forms, can be found on the Human Resources/Compensation Sharepoint page.
